Fast payments motivate Poles to shop online

The most attractive payment method for online shopping is fast payouts through payment portals. The report of Gemius E-commerce in Poland shows the details of the online shopping in this country.

Fast and certain payments

 

Nearly two-thirds (62%) of respondents confirm that the payment method that motivates online shopping in Poland is clearly a quick payment through payment portals. More than one third of online users prefer a cash on delivery (39%) or a payment to courier (36%). The least popular and at the same time the least motivating are mobile payments, or payments via QR codes (4%), installments (4%) and deferred payments (4%).

 

Online shopping has remained unchanged

 

Poles acknowledge that they spend monthly about 82.6 zł for clothing and accessories, 77.1 zł for shoes, 37.3 zł for books, CDs and DVDs and 33.5 zł for cinema and theater. Regarding white and black goods, average consumption over the past six months is 98 zł, and mobile devices 90.3 zł. Almost half of respondents (47%) are planning to maintain a similar trend in online shopping next year.

 

The goal of the survey, the results of which were presented in the report of Gemius E-commerce in Poland, was to identify the overall situation, habits and motivations related to online shopping. The study provides information about attitudes to online shopping between those who use it and those who opt for a different way of shopping, knowledge of online brands, motivation to select online stores, purchased products, and spending on individual categories, sources of information about products, effects of ROPO, preferences regarding the choice of payment method and also the use of mobile devices.

The report was prepared by Gemius in cooperation with Izbą Gospodarki Elektronicznej. The study was conducted in an online survey on a representative sample of 1500 Internet users aged 15 and over.
